Today, our NNS Network Officer Suzy Summerfield visited St Michael's Church Hall in Boldmere where she quite literally received a very warm welcome from volunteers who are helping to run the church's provision of the Place of Warm Welcome scheme in Sutton Coldfield.
Suzy said, "On approaching the building a lady, was leaving and openly commented, “It was my first visit today, and I was made to feel very welcome – I’ll be coming back next week”."
Suzy said that her own experience was the same; a lovely cosy room; a hot cup of tea; and smiling faces ready to chat. Volunteers David and Pat told Suzy about their dedication to provide a consistent place for people to go for company and refreshments, and their wish for as many local residents to be aware of weekly event.
"They have also partnered with Incredible Surplus, resulting in a selection of food being available to take home for free or for a small donation. I will definitely be returning !"
