Our SCNNS Strategic Framework 2022-23

As we began our new contract to deliver the Neighbourhood Network Scheme in Sutton Coldfield, the staff team and managers from the lead partners Age Concern Birmingham and Compass Support got together to reflect on what had worked well for SCNNS, our successes and achievements and what we would like to focus on going forward. Our meeting culminated in the production of a draft Strategic Framework which sets out four main priorities alongside ongoing opportunities and challenges.

Our main priorities moving forward in 2022 and 2023 are:

·         Mapping and analysis of gaps, needs and assets
·         Increasing awareness and promotion
·         Increasing accessibility of NNS to assets
·         Development of strategic structures

Making sure that we fully understand the priority needs and gaps in services for Sutton Coldfield residents around social and health care prevention outcomes. Affirming that the services, assets and activities that we support and fund will improve the lives, health and happiness of local citizens.

Raising awareness of what the NNS does in Sutton Coldfield, promoting our services and funding to all community assets, to the public and to partners and stakeholders. Making certain that everyone knows who we are, what we do, and how to contact us for support.

Making sure that the NNS are accessible from an inclusion point of view for older and disabled people and all adults with impairment, health conditions and additional needs. Promoting the message of inclusion, accessibility and diversity to all. But also making sure that local assets know how to find us.

To make ourselves into an essential partner within the support structures of Sutton Coldfield and the wider city of Birmingham. To make sure that NNS is at all the tables where prevention need is being discussed, a "nothing about us without us" approach to asset based community development and engagement. Participating, sharing and leading local conversations about our community and prevention strategies.

Our vision is to create a thriving network of assets supporting a healthy and engaged community. Our mission to improve the lives of Sutton Coldfield citizens through community development.
