A big happy new year to you from BCAT!
We start this year with some fantastic news that STEP ON will expand to 16 venues in 2023.
Step On is our own inhouse arts and crafts clubs that takes place weekly for free in several libraries, churches and community centres across Brum. The clubs are open to all adults 18+ no matter what their ability or status – a safe space for people to come together and make art, sing, have a cuppa and make new friends in their area.
STEP ON has been running since 2016 and, thank you to the Lottery and a combination of other smaller grants including NNS grants, we are able to support these groups until at least the end of March, with the intention of them becoming a fixture in free community support for the mental health social calendar whilst working closely with our community partners (funding dependent!). 2022 has been a fantastic year for STEP ON with approx. 386 workshops ran and approx. 3794 engagements up to end of December.
Please can you help circulate this information to your assets and to your community connectors – all groups are welcome to bring their service users for free.
It is so nice to come to you with some brilliant positive news for 2023!
