Could you be a befriending volunteer?

We are looking to expand our Befriending teams in Erdington and Selly Oak through Birmingham Hospice sites. We are looking for people to join our team of volunteer Befrienders to work with patients on the phone, in their home or at the Hospice supporting patients at risk of social isolation or loneliness whether this is having a cup of tea and a chat, doing a jigsaw or having a walk in the park.

You don’t need to have experience, as no personal or medical care would be provided by a volunteer, all you need is a warm and friendly personality and good listening skills, but we provide full training. We also offer a free DBS  and try to put on training once a month to get people ready as soon as possible! 😊

I’d be very grateful if you could help get the word out and circulate within the community! I have attached our leaflet, but if you need anything from us, please let me know!

If you have any events on that I would be able to attend and speak our team in more detail, I would love the opportunity to come and meet you!
