FREE training on Social Enterprise for NNS partners and local community assets in Birmingham

A FREE training session for NNS partners in Birmingham and for your local community assets who are considering becoming social enterprises or are already on the development journey.

The session takes place on 17th July in the pleasant and comfortable training room at the Methodist Church Four Oaks in Sutton Coldfield. Location easy to find at 155 Lichfield Road on the north side of Sutton Coldfield town centre. A very short walking distance from the railway station.

Training delivered by Dave Lane of DISE, a trusted expert in the West Midlands.

9.30am till 12.30pm. Refreshments will be provided.

No question is too basic, the recent DISE training has supported a number of our local assets to put their ideas into action and start thinking about why and how to become a fledgling or fully functioning social enterprise. From good intentions to real actions.

Our local NNS funding is allowing DISE to provide additional 1:1 support to groups who need help making the next steps or to review what they are already doing. But this will only be offered to groups who attend the training.

Maximum two people per organisation. NNS staff also welcome to get an insight into social enterprise. The training is being offered to all NNS areas across Birmingham.

Business and Financial Planning – Making the numbers work.

Planning is an important part of all our work, whether we are planning a project or developing a full business plan to seek investment to create more impact. Getting the fundamentals right, such as understanding full cost recovery, achievable (SMART) targets and outcomes, and the market we operate in can be daunting. This workshop will provide you with the tools to enable you to develop strong project or business plans and articulate them simply and effectively.

This workshop will:

  • Enable delegates to understand their full costs
  • Improve delegates confidence to develop budgets and financial forecasts
  • Understand their market, competitors/ collaborators
  • Provide useful tools, templates, and resources to make planning simple
