Improving the experiences of Primary Care for autistic people - video and the Public Health lunch and learn video

We have been asked to share the following videos far and wide, so please share with anyone you wish, or on your social media platforms etc.

Please can I share a video that we have co-produced around improving the experiences of primary care for autistic people;

 Whilst aimed at primary care, we feel the messages are universal and can apply to all sectors.

Please could I kindly ask you to widely share the video where it would be of relevance?

Please find the following comms that can be shared alongside the video link;

The Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Provider Collaborative Learning Disability and Autism Team has worked with local citizens to produce a video aimed at improving the experience of Primary Care for autistic people.

Whilst created for Primary Care, the messages are universal and can apply to all health care appointments across all health care sectors.

This video has been co-designed and co-developed with autistic people in Birmingham and Solihull and explores some of the challenges that they can face when accessing their GP practice. We hear about their personal experiences and how reasonable adjustments can greatly improve the experience of making and attending appointments.

Colleagues are asked to watch the video and to share widely to support better experiences of health care appointments for our autistic population.

Dr. Clare Webb, GP and Health Inequalities Lead at Solihull Healthcare Partnership states; "Solihull Healthcare Partnership is proud to have contributed to the creation of this film aimed at improving the primary care experience for autistic individuals. It serves as a powerful voice and is a valuable training resource for both clinical and non-clinical staff. We look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have in enhancing the care and support provided to autistic service users across Birmingham and Solihull."

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
