Birmingham City Council is releasing a new tool that can
help support residents, advisors & volunteers with finding support across
the city.
Brum Chat is our new self-help platform designed to empower residents with 24/7 access to personalised advice, support plans, and AI-powered chat assistance. Whether someone needs help with housing, employment, finances, or digital safety, Brum Chat offers tailored guidance that’s easy to access and navigate.
As a Warm Welcome organisation, you’re in a unique position to champion this tool. By spending a bit of time exploring Brum Chat yourself, you’ll be better equipped to show residents how it works and how it can benefit them. The platform is designed to be intuitive, but it’s full of features, from AI Gurus that specialise in different support areas to custom toolkits and task lists that help users stay on track.
It’s worth noting that Brum Chat tailors its content to each individual user. That means it can take a little longer to load information initially, but the result is an entirely personalised experience. The left-hand sidebar is also customisable, allowing users to pin tabs and resources that matter most to them.
To get started, visit brum.chat and try selecting a Guru, exploring the advice sections, or chatting with the AI assistant. You’ll quickly see how useful it can be – and how easy it is to guide someone else through it.
The more familiar you are with Brum Chat, the more
confidently you can promote it to residents. Whether you’re working
face-to-face, over the phone, or online, encouraging people to use Brum Chat
could make a real difference in how they access support.
