Project Officer, Birmingham Community Matters

* 0.6 FTE (22.2 hours per week), home based, travel within Birmingham, UK

* £28,500 FTE salary (actual salary will be £17,100 pro rata)

Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, Birmingham Community Matters (BCM) is looking for a Project Officer to join our team in September 2024. 

In this role, you will help us to boost the impact of small voluntary groups across Birmingham. 

The Project Officer job is home based, with a requirement to travel to and work from community venues around Birmingham. BCM will provide the equipment you need for you to do your work. It is 0.6 FTE (full time equivalent) – 22.2 hours per week. We will be seeking additional funding to increase this role to 29.6 hours per week (0.8 FTE), by negotiation with the successful candidate.

The Project Officer will build on our work with small community organisations, within a defined geographical area in Birmingham. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of activities that support small and micro voluntary groups in the city.

Briefly, the role will involve:

· Organising, hosting and facilitating (online and in-person) meetings, events and workshops

· Developing networks and contacts and working with host organisations and wider stakeholders for the benefit of the groups we support

· Speaking to volunteers and group members (in person and online) to understand their queries about setting up or developing their micro community group or small charity.
